A panel press is used for shooting polyurethane foam into panels that are used to build Walk-in Coolers. The grey colored press is 26′ long by 4′ wide with a 6″ wide by 1 1/2″ deep double step in the back of the lowest section for forming corner panels.
It uses six 10 ton screw jacks with a load sensing system to regulate the clamping pressure. However we have also designed a press that uses hydraulic cylinders to supply the clamping force. (See picture of blue press.) The temperature of the press is regulated by a hot water circulating system. A major advantage of this design is its “C” frame shape that facilitates loading long panels from the side.
